I recently raised my hand to lead a Squad of women within Ellevate, which I joined in January of this year. What I love about our Squad is that we share resources, offer feedback, encouragement and support in a safe (virtual) environment over a 12-week period.
Prior to our initial “Minding Your Business” discussion, I shared a video “The Top 50 Rules for Women Entrepreneurs” featuring 10 rules from each of the following women:
- JK Rowling
- Beyoncé
- Martha Stewart
- Oprah Winfrey
- Alex Morgan
Because success leaves clues, I compiled my “Top 20” from what these amazing women shared, including 3 nuggets of my own. What I love about these tips is you can apply them personally and professional – whether you’re an entrepreneur or an employee!
- Failure helps you discover yourself
- Take action on your ideas
- Believe
- You have the power to imagine better
- Be curious and creative
- Have a plan
- Run with your idea
- Obstacles can be solved
- Understand the next right move
- Seize the opportunity
- Everyone makes mistakes
- Relax, it’s going to be ok
- Take it day by day
- Focus on what you do best
- Find your tribe
- Have confidence in yourself
- Dream big
- Keep your life balanced
- Grow and give (when someone helps you, don’t forget to help someone else)
- Play along the way. Live, laugh, learn and love!
